Navigating a career and raising a family is challenging enough, but when my son was diagnosed with a brainstem tumor, well let’s just say priorities become crystal clear. Going through some of the hardest times in my life, I relied on my faith, hope and the love from my friends and family.
Having a network of friends who had kids with neurological challenges to talk with just to share what we were dealing with was therapeutic as well as helpful to see how others were handling similar challenges. So, when my dear friend, Jennifer West, approached me about joining Parent Hearts, (right at a time in my life when I was retiring from a 32-year career in the oil industry), I couldn’t think of a better way to “give back” and provide a network of connections for other parents.
I can’t wait to see where this journey with Parent Hearts takes us.
